Nick Chubb remains a free agent, but the four-time Pro Bowler is eager to prove that his best days are not behind him.
Chubb is testing free agency for the first time his career. Once considered one of the best running backs in the NFL, Chubb's career has hit a major speed bump due to injuries.
In Week 2 of the 2023 season, he suffered a devastating left knee injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers, tearing his MCL and damaging his ACL. The injury sidelined him for the rest of the season and carried over into the following year.
Chubb made his return in Week 7 last season and found the end zone in his first game back. But his comeback was cut short once again. In Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Chubb suffered a broken foot that ended his season.
He finished the year with 332 rushing yards on 102 carries and three touchdowns, averaging just 3.3 yards per attempt. It was the lowest mark of his career and he entered free agency on a low note.
Doubts have lingered about whether Chubb can return to his Pro Bowl form, but he delivered a strong message on social media Monday, signaling he’s confident in his ability to be a difference-maker.
"They’ve already wrote my ending when I’m just getting started," Chubb wrote in the post.
The rare message from Chubb generated a viral reaction, with many Browns fans pleading with the franchise to bring him back.
"Re-sign this man immediately," one fan said in the comments.

Another added: "This man better be back in orange and brown!"
The Browns don't have a clear path to move on from Chubb. Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. are the top two backs on the depth chart. Considering his recent injury history and lack of free agent interest, Cleveland could likely bring back their fan-favorite running back at an affordable price.
"Yeah I’ve seen enough. Just pay him," another fan said.
"If the Browns fumble you too, I'm going to lose all interest in this franchise," a comment read.
In all, Chubb has rushed for 6,843 yards and 51 touchdowns in his career.
