NFL Trade Pitch Pairs Cooper Kupp With $240 Million QB

The Los Angeles Rams are officially opening phone lines and listening to trade offers. Cooper Kupp is on his way out – and teams are bound to make a run at the Super Bowl LVI Most Valuable Player.

There’s already stirring trade ideas involving Kupp. Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports presented one scenario that pairs the past $80 million wide receiver with a $240 million quarterback. This move also allows Kupp to practice in Southern California during training camp – but north of the Rams’ facility.

DeArdo calls the Dallas Cowboys a potential trade destination. Kupp would build chemistry with All-Pro QB Dak Prescott in this scenario. Especially during training camp practices in Oxnard, Ca. Kupp also replaces a past Rams teammate of his. DeArdo mapped out the other reasons why Kupp-to-Dallas sounds enticing.Cooper Kupp

"Dallas needs some reinforcements around CeeDee Lamb, especially with Brandin Cooks slated to hit free agency,” DeArdo wrote. “Kupp’s addition would free things up for Lamb while also giving Dak Prescott another established weapon to throw to.”

The Cowboys have screamed for consistent help next to Lamb. Plus, an extra reliable target for Prescott. Incoming head coach Brian Schottenheimer has a roster and offense to build. Inserting Kupp instantly gives Schottenheimer a trusted inside wideout he can motion out pre-snap. Then attack defenses underneath or towards the sidelines with Kupp.

Health will be paramount for Kupp, though. He’s struggled with staying healthy since the 2021 Super Bowl run. He’d also need to accept that Lamb is WR1 in Dallas. Although, Kupp watched Puka Nacua blossom into the Rams’ top receiving option – so the 31-year-old likely will have zero trouble allowing Lamb to lead the receiving unit.

The Rams likely will want some draft capital from the Cowboys in this trade scenario. Kupp, though, doesn’t look like he would command a first round selection in this deal. Dallas can potentially send one of its compensatory picks to help sweeten the deal to land Kupp. Or if L.A. general manager Les Snead wants to really get bold, he’ll ask for the Cowboys’ 44th overall pick in a Kupp trade proposal, since the Rams don’t hold a second round selection.

Overall, Dallas surfaces as one of the more intriguing landing spots for Kupp in 2025.
