NFL reporter brazenly asked star player for his wife's number in bizarre exchange

New England Patriots star Kendrick Bourne was left stunned after a reporter asked for his wife’s number during a bizarre exchange.

Despite enduring a tough season with the Patriots, wide receiver Bourne has managed to maintain his jovial spirit – though that was put to the test last week in an awkward interview. Bourne, when not wearing his Patriots uniform, is known for consistently flaunting stylish looks every Sunday, as well as on Instagram.

However, he admitted at the Gillette Stadium last Thursday that the mastermind behind his outfits was none other than his wife, Vanessa. He confessed: “My wife is actually my stylist, shout out to my wife she’s going to love this.

“She puts it all together for me so she’s doing good. I don’t know what she’s got ready for me but we’ll see,” Bourne added, before saying with a smile: “She’s behind it all [every outfit].”

But the interaction took a strange turn when WBZ TV’s Dan Roche sought to upgrade his own fashion sense. He awkwardly asked: “Can I get her number… in the respectful way… for the strictly wardrobe part of life…”

The brazen question left Bourne aghast as he jokingly replied: “Hold on, what do you mean? Hold on, what are you asking? What are you asking?”

But he chose to see the funny side, quickly adding: “Oh, her business card! I didn’t know what Dan was saying. No, she’ll love that though. She makes me look like a professional.”

The exchange brought some much-needed laughter to everyone in the room, given that the Gillette Stadium has been a gloomy place this year. With the Patriots sitting at just 3-12 this season, both coaches and players have spent recent weeks apologizing to each other for publicly airing their grievances.

Bourne returned to action in October after suffering a torn ACL midway through last season. The 29-year-old got off to a slow start in 2024 but he has since found his rhythm.

New England signed the Eastern Washington product to a three-year contract extension last offseason, demonstrating that the Pats see him as part of their future.
