New York Rangers Invite 63 Players to Training Camp

The wait is over. The New York Rangers announced their Training Camp roster and schedule for the 2024-’25 season.

 Players will report on September 18 with off-ice testing. The team will hold its first on-ice session on Thursday, September 19, at the MSG Training Center in Tarrytown. Training Camp will run until Sunday, October 6, and includes six preseason games – September 22 at BOS (5:00 PM ET), September 24 vs. NYI (7:00 PM ET), September 26 vs. BOS (7:00 PM ET), September 30 at NJD (7:00 PM ET), October 1 vs. NJD (7:00 PM ET), and October 4 at NYI (7:00 PM ET).

The Rangers invited 63 players to Training Camp this season, made up of 36 forwards, 21 defensemen
and six goaltenders.

Some familiar names attending camp are Brett Berard, Adam Estrom, Brennan Othmann, Matt Rempe, Mathew Roberston, and Adam Sykora. Reilly Smith and Sam Carrick, who were both acquired in July, will participate in camp for the first time as Rangers.

Carrick, 32, tallied 10 goals and six assists for 16 points in 77 games with the Edmonton Oilers and
Anaheim Ducks last season. He has compiled 28 goals and 25 assists for 53 points in 240 career NHL
games between the Oilers, Ducks, and Toronto Maple Leafs.


Smith, 33, tallied 13 goals and 27 assists for 40 points in 76 games for the Penguins in 2023-24. He has
played parts of 13 seasons in the NHL, split between the Penguins, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, Florida
Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights, registering 513 points (213G-300A) in 840 regular-season games. (via NYRPR).
