New York Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller Appears to be of significant interest amongst many NHL teams according to elite prospects Cam Robinson.New York Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller #nhl #Rangers

Over the past couple of weeks, it appears that his fate has been sealed, and that the New York Rangers are willing to move from him and a potential new deal as he is now a restricted free agent with arbitration rights.

Major decision looms with Rangers organization with Miller

The Rangers are currently going through a major evaluation on how the team move forward after such a disappointing season and being only one year removed from being the President's Trophy winners and going to the Eastern Conference finals against the Florida Panthers back in 2024.

There are two ideas circulating around the league on what will happen to Miller.
Many feel that the Rangers will try to trade him as soon as they can perhaps at the NHL draft as all 32 teams will be available to make an offer and help the Rangers improve their depth.
There's also a possibility that an NHL organization would be willing to make an offer sheet 2 Miller which would see a return of draft picks back to the Rangers.
With the new offer sheet compensation thresholds, any offer ranging from a $4.68 million AAV to a $7.02 million AAV requires a 1st and a 3rd going back to the RFA's former team. Miller is coming off a two-year bridge deal at $3.872 million AAV. His qualifying offer is set for $4.646 million, so any offer sheet will obviously have to come in above that. AFP Analytics projects his next contract, if a long-term deal, to come in at $6.033 million over six years. - David Litman

Miller would help teams improve their defense corps

Miller stands at 6 foot 5 and 210 lbs and has a physical edge to his game which will be important to many NHL teams looking for young defenseman who can make an impact for many years.
Many emerging teams including the Detroit Red Wings, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks and Utah Mammoth all have significant amount of cap space along with their draft picks which would give them the ability to offer sheet Miller where the Rangers would likely not match.
It will be a fascinating time for Rangers fans and the organization as general manager Chris Drury and his staff prepared for the NHL draft which will begin on June 27th and on July 1st they will begin to look at the free agent market and see if there's a potential fit.
