Aformer Dallas Cowboys playmaker is still looking for a new home with the NFL season fast approaching. The Cowboys trading Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns for essentially a pick swap did not age the best, especially among frustrated Dallas fans.

Yet, despite having an impressive resume, Cooper is still looking for a team in 2025. Ahead of NFL training camps getting underway, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton offered eight bold predictions on roster moves that would be the talk of the league.

The analyst predicts that Cooper will sign with the Los Angeles Rams in a move that Cowboys fans would not enjoy. Let’s dive into Cooper’s future as well as the Cowboys’ current outlook at wide receiver.

The Rams Predicted to Sign Ex-Cowboys WR Amari Cooper

It is hard to imagine veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford not being thrilled to have another consistent option at receiver. The analyst explained how Cooper would fit in the Rams offense.

“Though Los Angeles re-signed Tutu Atwell to a one-year, $10 million deal, the club still has $20.2 million in cap space,” Moton wrote on June 11, 2025, in a story titled, “8 Bold Predictions for 2025 NFL Training Camp.”

“At 31, coming off a down year, Amari Cooper isn’t going to break the bank in his first offseason as a free agent. As a perennial postseason contender, the Rams could appeal to the five-time Pro Bowler who may want a chance to play in the Super Bowl at this stage in his career.”

Cooper’s days of landing the $100 million contract the star had with the Cowboys appear to be over. Yet, the idea of Cooper joining Davante Adams and Puka Nacua would present another formidable NFC foe as the Cowboys look to secure a playoff spot this season.

After posting 1,000-yard seasons in four of five seasons, Cooper has struggled the last two years, failing to reach 600 receiving yards since 2023.

The Cowboys Are Unlikely to Reunite With Amari Cooper

The Cowboys have their own questions at wide receiver, but a reunion with Cooper appears unlikely given how things ended. This is evidenced by how willing Dallas was to part ways with Cooper in 2022 before striking a trade and barely receiving a return for the playmaker.

The one constant in the Dallas offense has been CeeDee Lamb, and the Cowboys made a major move this offseason to get the superstar help with the acquisition of George Pickens. Dallas’ third wide receiver spot appears wide open with Jalen Tolbert, Jonathan Mingo and Parris Campbell among those competing for the role.

Pickens has a nickname for the Cowboys’ new wide receiver duo dubbing the tandem as “Mario Bros.”

“Just different type of styles of play,” Pickens said regarding playing alongside Lamb, per Yahoo Sports. “A lot of people over the years got different styles of play, but CeeDee’s a certain type of guy, then I’m a certain type of guy.

“So, when you mesh that together, it’s like ‘Mario Bros.’ We definitely can do something special.”
