The Cleveland Browns were able to start off their offseason with a huge move to keep superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett.
After making a very public trade request, Garrett changed his mind and returned to the Browns. He received a massive four-year, $160 million extension to help convince him to do so.
Now, the franchise is looking to find a new starting quarterback.
Quite a few names have been linked to Cleveland. Among those names are Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, and Joe Flacco.
Wilson made his visit to the Browns on Thursday and has dominated the news feed in Cleveland.
During Garrett's press conference on Friday, the star defensive end spoke out about Wilson. He believes that Wilson would be a great addition for Cleveland.
“I mean him and I had a little bit of conversation at the Pro Bowl as well as here and I definitely think he’d be a valuable asset as a leader, as a mentor to those young guys,” Garrett said. “Veteran leadership can’t be understated. And I think he has definitely has some juice left at the position. He’s got plenty of arm left. He’s very smart and he knows what he’s capable of. So he’d be a valuable asset.”
As shared by the Browns on X, Garrett hinted that he knows who the team will have as their starting quarterback in 2025. Coupling this with his quotes about Wilson, it's reasonable to assume that he's talking about the 36-year-old free agent.
Recently, Shannon Sharpe sent a very pointed message to Cleveland about the quarterback position.
“Cleveland, if you want to ever be taken serious, when you’re more than an afterthought, you’re gonna have to find a quarterback,” Sharpe said.
Garrett seems to like who he thinks will be the Browns' starter in 2025. Perhaps it will end up being Wilson.
