Morgan Wade Slams “Dumb” Romance Rumors With Kyle Richards, Shares How RHOBH Star Helped Her as She Gushes Over “Great Friendship”

Morgan Wade Denies Kyle Richards Rumors, Credits "Dumb" Internet, and Gushes Over "Great Friendship," Plus Says RHOBH Star Has "Really Been There for Me"Morgan Wade opened up about her relationship with Kyle Richards and addressed the ongoing rumors of a potential affair with the 54-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member during an interview on Wednesday.

While promoting her new album, Psychopath, the follow-up to 2021’s Wilder Days, the 28-year-old country singer admitted that when Kyle, who is allegedly separated from husband Mauricio Umansky, 53, gave her music a shoutout on Instagram years ago, she had no idea who she was.

“The only reality television I watched was 90 Day Fiancé and I had to stop watching because it put me in such a bad mood because I get so irritated at these people, but I had never watched the Real Housewives at all,” Morgan told PEOPLE on August 23.

But after a friend tipped her off about Kyle, Morgan reached out with a message of thanks.

Fast-forward to years later, and she and Kyle have been hit with numerous reports of a romance, which the two of them poked fun at in a steamy video for Morgan’s “Fall in Love With Me.”

“The internet asked and [Kyle Richards] and I delivered,” Morgan wrote in an announcement about the video, which featured the two of them nearly making out and spending time together in a bathtub.

While Kyle and Morgan may come from different worlds, with Morgan hailing from Floyd, Virginia, Morgan said the two of them have a lot in common, including their love of fitness and their sobriety.

Kyle and Morgan have also bonded over Morgan’s upcoming double mastectomy, which is expected to be featured in a documentary Kyle is producing about the musician. As RHOBH fans may know, Kyle’s mother, Kathleen Richards, died in 2002 of breast cancer.

“[Kyle] helped me connect with some really good surgeons,” Morgan revealed. “We were talking about that and then she had the idea of us doing a documentary and following all this stuff, so we’ve been out and about. She’s just really been there for me with all that.”

Because Morgan tested positive for the RAD51D gene, which signals an increased risk of breast cancer, she’s chosen to undergo the surgery. And in addition to helping her navigate her health challenges, Kyle is aiding Morgan in her adjustment to fame.

“She’s extremely smart when it comes to business and how to mentally ignore sh*t,” Morgan explained. “The thing about Kyle is people see her on reality television, but I’ve got to meet her outside of that, and I don’t watch the show so it’s not like I’m seeing this perspective of her. I’ve seen her in real life and she’s been such a great person to have in my corner to help me navigate stuff. I didn’t have anybody like that, and all this stuff was so new to me.”

“It’s just been such a great friendship,” she added. “I know that if Kyle vouches for you, you’re a good person.”

As Morgan’s friendship with Kyle grows closer, Morgan has also spent time with Kyle’s friends, including Teddi Mellencamp, 42, and Kyle has grown close to Morgan’s family. In fact, months ago, Morgan’s mom shared photos of Kyle and Morgan at Disney California Adventure.

Still, while she confirmed they are close, Morgan denied rumors of anything more.

“We’re friends,” she insisted. “The Internet’s a dumb place.”

Also during the interview, addressing Psychopath, which is set to be released on Friday, August 25, Morgan said she stayed true to her vision despite the pressure she was feeling.

“With this record, I put a lot of pressure on myself. Was the first one just lucky? Did I just get lucky that it turned out great?” she wondered. “[Country] has absolutely no idea what to do with me. But that’s a good thing, because you stick out. It’s worked, me staying true to what I want to do.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime this fall.
