The New York Rangers of 2025-26 will be missing the "BFF line". As one-third of that line, and the most important part, has been sent to the Anaheim Ducks, as GM Chris Drury traded Chris Kreider. Mika Zibanejad would issue an emotional statement on his departure from the organization.![Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad]()
Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider were very close and played on the same line for quite some time during their time together in the Rangers organization. Now, the bromance has come to an end, after a trade sent Kreider to Anaheim.
Thus ending the longest-tenured Rangers time, as a Blueshirt (13 years) and friend of Zibanejad.
Linemate and best friend Mika Zibanejad would issue a touching statement that detailed their friendship and how great of a person Kreider was.
The duo had a special connection both on and off the ice, as the chemistry would flourish for amazing plays, and plenty of highlight reel footage for us all to enjoy for all time.
Zibanejad's touching statement was powerful not only in the fact that these two shared a special bond as teammates, but also grew into brothers.
The duo led the team to success for their nine years together, and the departure of Kreider must be painful, as even Zibanejad's wife, Ima, took to Instagram to post about losing Kreids to the West Coast.
"In the future, I will show Ella highlights of Uncle Chris and Daddy to teach her about chemistry and true feelings, and tell her to never settle for less," Irma wrote. "The Kreider's ... You are home forever. Friends for life. Family for a lifetime."
Much like Irma's heartfelt post, Zibanejad wished him the best of luck and lamented that the fact he's going to Anaheim as they're gaining an amazing teammate.
It is truly the end of an era in New York.
