Matthew Judon Sounds Off on Where New England Patriots Contract Talks StandThe New England Patriots have been busy signing key defensive players to extensions early in training camp, with the exception of Pro Bowl pass rusher Matthew Judon.

Safety Jabrill Peppers inked a new contract, defensive lineman Devon Godchaux also put pen to paper on a new deal, but it doesn’t sound like any progress has been made with Judon who is in the midst of a holdout as training camp continues.

Following Godchaux’s agreement, Judon revealed that the Patriots haven’t even made an offer.

“No they haven’t but it makes me look bad again. Don’t believe the lies,” Judon wrote, which is in contrast to a report by The Athletic suggesting the Patriots had offered Judon.

What’s Next for Matthew Judon, New England Patriots?

Judon has become the subject of rampant trade speculation amid his standoff with New England.

The 31-year-old aims to prove he can return to form after suffering a torn biceps last season, and could prove to be a valuable veteran presence and leadership voice for first-year head coach Jerod Mayo.

Monday, Judon was seen watching practice before engaging in an animated conversation with Mayo and team brass before walking off the field.

Through his first eight seasons, Judon has produced 369 total tackles with 66.5 sacks. It’s still an open question whether the two sides will be able to strike a deal before the regular season gets underway.
