SHAKIRA Khan threatened to quit Love Island in scenes not yet seen on TV.
The lass from Burnley had a meltdown in the beach hut after ending her blossoming relationship with Conor over fears she’d never get over Harry.
The Sun can reveal Shakira was so upset by the situation, she went to seek support from the 24/7 duty of care team and asked to leave.
Bosses were able to help her through the turmoil over a number of hours and she made the decision to stay.
The meltdown happened after she ended things with the Irish rugby lad.
A source said: “Shakira has been through the wringer and was already at breaking point over her heartbreak by Harry.
“When Harry made it exclusive with Helena, everything unravelled and she realised she wasn’t ready to be with Conor properly.
“She did the brave thing by ending that, but then the floodgates opened and she just didn’t want to be in the villa anymore.
“She went to the beach hut and asked to leave the villa.
“The duty of care team were able to help her through her emotions and she decided to stay.”
Shakira has had a tumultuous time in the villa but viewers branded her decision to end it with Conor “real”.
One tweeted: “Shakira is the most respectful, self aware, mature person in Love Island history, never mind the fact she's only 22.”
Another added: “Shakira is so real that she’s willing to leave the villa without a man or winning instead of faking it with Conor til the end.”
It comes after fans called out Love Island bosses for allegedly giving Shakira a "villain edit" just days before the final.
ITV2 viewers insisted the marketing engineer, 22, has been "set up" by producers as they took to social media with their latest show theory.
Some claim the Shakira and show BFF Toni are being made to look like “mean girls,” despite what they see as Shakira’s unfair treatment in the villa.
This week, show bosses confirmed the date of the 2025 final - this being on on Monday, August 4, from 9pm to 10.35pm.
