LOVE Island fans think they’ve worked out the ‘real reason’ behind Maya Jama’s strong response to Helena Ford and Harry Cooksley’s behaviour during the latest recoupling.
Last night’s Love Island saw the Islanders reuniting after Casa Amor - with Helena being informed of Harry locking lips with bombshell Rheo Parnell and claiming he “didn’t miss” Helena.
Maya made it clear she was less than impressed when Helena responded by sniggering, saying: “I don’t know, I probably wouldn’t find that funny if I was in a couple with someone like that.”
The presenter then asked her: “You laugh quite a lot when he’s been doing things. Is that to avoid upset or are you genuinely not bothered?”
Harry tried to justify his moves, saying: “If I wanted to come back with Rheo I’d have coupled up with her…”
But Maya hit back: “It doesn’t exclude everything that happened.”
And viewers were quick to speculate on Maya’s barbed comments, claiming she was so upset because the situation mirrored her relationship with ex-boyfriend Stormzy.
Maya and the rapper first got together in 2015 before splitting in 2019.
They reunited in 2023 but confirmed it was all over again last summer.
Before their surprise reconciliation, Stormzy confessed to cheating on Maya in his track Lessons from second album Heavy Is The Head.
Stormzy admitted he had “done the dirt” during their four-year relationship.
The lyrics also included “the greatest love I ever knew” and “it’s too hard to forgive”.
In April Maya confirmed she’s in a relationship with Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias.
Last month Ruben jetted to Love Island to take Maya on a romantic date during her time off from the show.
