Lindsay Hubbard would love to share her young daughter with her fans via social media — but not everyone agrees with her.
During an interview on the August 1 episode of the “Balancing Act” podcast with Kristen Doute, Hubbard revealed that ex-boyfriend Turner Kufe isn’t comfortable with her sharing information about or images of their daughter Gemma online.
The pair have been on a “very long journey, a lot of conversations” on the topic, Hubbard explained, but she’s ultimately decided that it’s “not worth fighting” Kufe.
Hubbard and Kufe briefly dated in 2020, before the Summer House star began a relationship with Carl Radke. The pair reconnected and started dating in January 2024, after Hubbard and Radke called off their wedding.
Hubabard and Kufe, a doctor who works in biotech investing, kept their relationship relatively offline — an agreement that soon extended to Gemma after she was born in December 2024.
Here is what Hubbard has shared about posting her baby on social media.
Daughter Gemma is “a literal angel on Earth,” Hubbard told Doute, adding that she’s “the cutest thing ever.” Still, according to the reality TV star, posting images of her daughter on social media isn’t really an option.
“He’s — the way I explain it — which is yeah, he’s private, I’m public,” Hubbard said of her coparenting partner, Kufe.
“And you know, it’s been a very long journey, a lot of conversations,” she continued. “But to me, it’s like, I have to pick and choose my battles in life, and, like, it’s just not one that I feel like fighting him on.”
In the same conversation, Hubbard told Doute she feels as if sharing all aspects of a person’s life online is “very natural” — especially for “anyone who’s on reality TV.”
“It’s all we know, and we’re trained and it’s in our DNA to share and be open and share our lives publicly,” she continued. “And then all of a sudden, I found myself in a relationship with a very private person, and I was like, ‘Oh, God, what do I do with this?’”
Giving birth to Gemma magnified the differences between Hubbard and Kefe when it comes to posting their lives online. “And then it was, like, then I had a baby with that very private person.”
“I’m very proud of my daughter,” Hubbard added. “I’m excited. She’s, like, my baby, I created her, my body created her, my organs created her. She lived inside of me for 10 f***ing months. Like, I love this girl. Like, I want to show her off, and it’s just been a long process, but it’s just not a fight that I feel like fighting.
When asked if Gemma might make an appearance on Summer House, Hubbard had to admit to Doute that she just isn’t sure yet. “I am still trying to figure out everything with Gemma and filming,” she explained.
After Doute asked for clarification, Hubbard added that Bravo requires both parents to approve of a minor child appearing on a series before they can be featured.
