Why Luann de Lesseps sparked engagement rumors

After photos of Luann wearing her eye-catching ring surfaced earlier this month, many fans assumed she had taken a big step with a mystery man. 

When asked about the ring by Us Weekly, Luann was sure to give a nonchalant reply.

“I will say that I got a brand new ring, and I’m a very happy girl,” she told the outlet. “And that’s all I can say about that for now.”

Now we know that James has yet to get down on one knee, but marriage could still be in the couple's future. He recently told The Daily Dish that he truly fell for Luann as a friend and a lover during his time on the show.

“What happened with Luann and me is that I fell in love with her as a human being, and then I started to recognize some other feelings happening,” he said. “Not just like, ‘I love who you are as a human being, but I’m sort of, kind of falling in that other love thing, like, the romantic thing.’”

Although Luann rocks a ring from another gentleman, she remains smitten with James. In the WWHL episode, she proudly wore a key necklace he gifted her and opened up about their long-distance relationship. 

Luann admitted that the trip to James' home in Hawaii is inconvenient, joking, "It is easier to get to Paris."

She told Andy that they usually meet up in Santa Monica or Los Angeles, and he recently took his fellow Bravo's Love Hotel castmates to see her cabaret show at The Wiltern theater. Luann said that when they're apart, James sends her "adorable" videos of him singing in the shower.

"I love James," Luann said. "He's such a great guy."
