Summer House star Lindsay Hubbard is currently riding high thanks to the birth of her first child. This comes after the reality TV star suffered a significant heartbreak at the hands of her ex-fiance, Carl Radke. Now, she’s opening up about claims she monetized her pregnancy. Plus, she’s revealing exactly how much she’s earned this year from brand deals related to her new bundle of joy.
As fans will recall, Summer House season eight saw the conclusion of Lindsay and Carl’s engagement. However, she quickly moved on and has since given birth to a healthy baby girl, Gemma. The baby’s father, Turner Kufe, prefers to stay out of the public eye.
According to PEOPLE, Lindsay recently appeared on the Trading Secrets podcast. While there, she talked about quite a bit, but the parts that people are discussing revolve around her comments on having her baby. Specifically, people are up in arms about her earning money thanks to her pregnancy. According to Lindsay, “People were very torn up about this.”
She added, “They were like, ‘I can’t believe she monetized her pregnancy announcement.’ And it’s like, why not? I’m gonna make the announcement anyway, why not make money from it?”
Regarding the announcement with the pregnancy test, she explained, “I used Clearblue, I used the digital test — that was the test I used back in April when I found out I was pregnant. So why not go to them and say, ‘Hey, I used your test, I’m about to announce my pregnancy, do you want to sponsor this?'”
Lindsay then added, “This is how I’m making my money. That was by far the biggest announcement of my entire life. At that point, I think it was the biggest deal [I ever did]. It tied another deal I’d done in the spring.”
The Summer House star also revealed that she has made more than $100,000 from social media this year thanks to the partnerships associated with her giving birth.
