"He's been asking me what shaped stones I like, so I've been giving him little hints," Pippen tells PEOPLE
Larsa Pippen and boyfriend Jeff Coby are preparing to take things to the next level.
During a recent interview with PEOPLE, The Real Housewives of Miami star, 50, offered an update on her relationship with the 31-year-old professional basketball player. The couple started dating in early 2025, but Pippen admits she has seen a future with Coby since the beginning.
“The other day, I FaceTimed him when he was at his parents' house and he was teaching his niece how to multiply, and I thought, ‘That is so sweet,’” she gushes. “That's why this is my guy, because he's just so family-oriented and just so kind, and I just feel like he's my guy. He just has all the qualities that I really love.”
When she and Coby first met, Pippen says she wanted to keep the relationship “quiet” and “private."
After going through a “very public” split from Marcus Jordan months prior, the reality personality was afraid of opening up about dating Coby. However, she has since changed her tune.
“I didn't want to share it with the world, but now I'm in a place where we get along really well, we basically do everything together, and so now we're more open,” she explains. “But I think the first few months, I feel like we were together every day and just did very normal things, and nobody even knew that we were together.”
The pair have been discussing their future together.
Looking ahead, Pippen reveals that she and Coby have had talks about getting engaged — including the details of her dream ring.
“I feel like we're on a really good path right now,” Pippen says. “We get along with everything. He's been asking me what shaped stones I like, so I've been giving him little hints.”
“We haven't really talked about the size, but we just talked about [how] I like the brilliant cut or an oval,” she adds. “I feel like those are really cute.”
Because her kids didn't like her ex, Pippen says their dynamic with Coby is a priority.
She says that seeing the athlete with her four children — whom she shares with ex-husband, former NBA player Scottie Pippen — has deepened her love for him.
“They have the best relationship,” she shares. “They play board games. They love to hang out. They talk basketball.”
“We talk to my son, Scotty [Jr.], after every game, and we go through what happened during the game,” she notes of her 24-year-old son, who followed in his father’s footsteps and now plays for the Memphis Grizzlies. “I feel like [Coby’s] very normal, and him around my family is just an easy place for us.”
Similarly, Pippen says Coby has shown her the importance of having a partner who also supports her friends.
As she navigates a messy feud with RHOM costar Lisa Hochstein and her boyfriend Jody Glidden, who she claims sided with her ex in the breakup, Pippen praises Coby's behavior.
“I feel like it's a man's job to make you and your friends feel safe if they're not in a great relationship or whatnot,” Pippen notes. “I just feel like I'm not used to having friends like Lisa or her relationship with her boyfriend. I don't know. Because I'm dating Jeff, and if one of my friends was to break up, he would never be like, ‘Oh, I want to hang out with this guy that's bashing her.’ He'd be like, ‘No, let's go to dinner. Let me make sure that I take care of you, and I make sure that you feel good.’”
