Lala Kent says she’s done introducing men to her friend group.
The Vanderpump Rules cast member made the pledge in a recent interview with E! News, just weeks after explaining her role in Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor’s recent relationship drama. Lala spoke about her involvement in the October 21 episode of her Give Them Lala podcast, confirming Brittany had hooked up with Jax’s longtime friend Julian.
“I introduced him, this Julian person, into the group,” she told the outlet. “And I feel horrible that he’s caused such a ruckus. Because my last guy [her ex-fiancé] also caused a ruckus with Jax’s pocketbook. I’m not bringing men into the group anymore.”
During the aforementioned podcast episode, Lala revealed she had a fling with Julian more than a decade ago and introduced him to Brittany about seven years later.
“Keep in mind he’s a very good-looking dude, OK?” Lala said. “Covered in tattoos, hot, and we started talking and he’s a little bit intense... But I start bringing him around the group… We would only kiss, but I would bring him on double dates, group dates. So that’s how Jax and Brittany know him.”
Shortly after Lala’s comments, Brittany confirmed she had, in fact, hooked up with Jax’s friend — and had zero apologies about it.
“We did not have a no dating in the friend group policy,” The Valley mom said in the Season 3 premiere of Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast. “We never spoke about that because why would we? First off, I didn’t think that I was going to hook up with his friend. It wasn’t planned. I wasn’t trying to go after one of his friends. That’s not how it happened.”
She continued: “But I also, it was somebody that I felt like I knew. In our world, it’s so crazy because, like, how do you trust people? And I was single for the first time in L.A.”
Brittany also claimed she and Jax only had two rules when it came to dating: They couldn’t hook up in their shared home and couldn’t bring anyone around their 3-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi.
Jax responded in Bravo’s Hot Mic Season 3, Episode 2, admitting he was “in shock” after learning Brittany had rebounded with one of his friends.
“I don’t think I would have been bothered by it if it was somebody else that I didn’t know,” Jax said. “There was a whole five or six months where I wasn’t seeing anybody, but this was going on… I definitely got a taste of my own medicine.”
