Kyle Richards hinted at “stuff” that “happened off-camera” with Dorit Kemsley, which made her question “what kind of friend” she is. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ‘OG’ also addressed the new season, her friend Teddi Mellencamp filing for divorce, and if Kyle herself plans on filing with Mauricio Umansky.
Last season, Kyle revealed her marital difficulties. In the finale, she shared that they separated. For a while after the separation, they were still living in the same house, but he eventually moved out – and now he’s reportedly dating another woman.
Speaking with Extra, Kyle addressed her current status with Mauricio.
“He’s definitely one of my best friends. I feel very proud of how we’ve navigated through this situation,” she said.
According to Kyle, certain castmates like Sutton Stracke have told her, “‘You have to file [for divorce].’”
“[But] I just didn’t feel any rush,” said Kyle. “I didn’t really think there was a need to do that. We have just been taking it at our own pace and what has worked for our family, and at the end of the day, that’s what we are — we are a family no matter what.”
The host then asked if they were planning on staying apart – or if a big divorce with a settlement was coming.
“We haven’t even gotten to there yet, but whatever it is, it’s not going to be drama,” she answered. “We both care about each other very much and want the best for each other.”
But Kyle explained that they haven’t rekindled their romance.
She also was asked if she’s dating.
“No… by choice. I would have to leave my house in order to do that,” she said. “You will not see me on any dating apps. And people have tried to set me up, but I just have declined.”
As for the recent pics of Mauricio with another woman, Kyle expressed, “He’s allowed to do what he wants. I’m allowed to do what I want… Even though it was a little jarring, I wasn’t angry with him.”
Kyle addressed if she could imagine her friend Teddi and her husband Edwin staying friends amid their split.
“I don’t know. I would like to see that happen,” she said. “For their kids’ sake, if nothing else.”
Concerning the recent trailer, Kyle confirmed she wasn’t “happy” with it.
“I wasn’t ‘happy Kyle’ on that promo — absolutely not,” she explained. “I’m happy on certain days like this — chatting with you and friends. Sometimes when we’re in the group together doing [promotional] stuff, that’s a little more challenging ’cause dynamics are a little off. Let’s just say and sometimes that is uncomfortable.”
She also addressed her feud with Dorit.
“There was stuff that had happened off-camera that made me question what kind of friend she really is, so we came into this not in a good place, and it got worse,” said the star. “It is hard to maintain friendships on reality television because even though we worked through a lot of it, because I see the promo and the things she said and we’re back to square one.”
Kyle denied that Dorit’s estranged husband PK slid into her DMs
