Summer House fans have watched the highs and lows of Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s relationship play out on camera — and there’s more than meets the eye.
“There’s a lot under the rug,” Kyle, 42, exclusively told Us Weekly at Bravo Fan Fest on Saturday, November 23, to which Amanda, 33, agreed and called certain instances “tough” to navigate.
“I mean, we’ve gone to therapy. We’ve worked on ourselves,” Amanda said. “It’s very eye-opening getting to watch yourself back [on TV] and see how you handle different situations. So, we’ve learned a lot and have grown from it. … We’re still working on it.”
Kyle, for his part, acknowledged that he doesn’t always “handle things very well.”
Kyle and Amanda have both been on Summer House since the start, getting married in September 2021. Watching back their lows as a couple “just validated” all of Kyle’s feelings, he explained.
“We’re so on different pages,” Amanda quipped. “Watching it back sometimes is a nightmare.”
While they can struggle to see one another’s perspectives, there are advantages to appearing on the Bravo hit.
“Individually, the memories that we get to make,” Amanda gushed on Saturday during the Miami convention. “I mean, being 33 and sharing a house with some of your best friends? Having these experiences is not something that people get to do or would do. I mean, again, we’re in our 30s and 40s, and you wouldn’t really share a house together like this. Being able to have these moments to look back on and these experiences is something that’s really special.”
Kyle also called the show an “incredible platform” and they “feel very lucky to be a part of it.”
Kyle and Amanda will both be back for the upcoming season 9 alongside Lindsay Hubbard, Carl Radke, Ciara Miller, West Wilson, Gabby Prescod and Jesse Solomon. The new batch of episodes will also feature a heavily pregnant Lindsay, 38. (She is expecting her first baby with her doctor boyfriend, whose identity has not been publicly shared.)
“I’m so happy she’s having a baby and that we’re gonna be able to experience that baby,” Amanda gushed, adding that she doesn’t have baby fever just yet. “When I want to get my cuddles and snuggles and kisses in, I can just visit her child and not be stuck with it. You know what I mean? Like, I can give it back.”
Amanda and Kyle are not in a rush to expand their family, but they want to have kids down the line.
