Does Kristen Doute have a leg to stand on when it comes to criticizing Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss for their affair? Some fans think not.
A number of people have sent messages to the Vanderpump Rules star on Twitter, reminding her that seasons ago, it was she who slept with her best friend’s boyfriend. However, despite her past hookup with Jax Taylor, who was dating Stassi Schroeder at the time, Kristen doesn’t think the two scenarios should be compared.
“[Scandoval] officially peaked my interest enough to watch [Vanderpump Rules] from the beginning and [Kristen Doute] is literally a walking contradiction,” a person wrote on March 26.
But according to Kristen, she shouldn’t be held accountable today for something that happened more than 10 years ago.
“The beginning of [Vanderpump Rules] was over a decade ago,” she replied.
Another person mentioned Kristen’s affair with Jax and wondered why there are so many inter-cast minglings.
“I am rewatching older seasons of [Vanderpump Rules] but does anyone remember when [Kristen Doute] slept with her bff [Stassi Schroeder’s] boyfriend [Jax Taylor]? Like [Andy Cohen] said before and earlier on [Watch What Happens Live], ‘Why does the group only sleep with ppl on the show?'” they asked.
And still, Kristen expressed interest in moving on from the years-old news.
“Yes Lindsay. Everyone remembers. Can we move on?” Kristen asked.
Then, when another person responded to the tweet about Kristen’s controversial hookup with Jax and noted that Raquel is taking far more heat than she ever did, claiming she’s being “treated like an axe [murderer],” Kristen insisted she was ousted from the group, albeit temporarily.
“They didn’t speak to me for a year and a half, and we had years of history as best friends,” she explained. “I had to prove my growth through my actions.”
She then added, “These situations are just not even slightly the same.”
Following the sharing of Kristen’s response, a number of others weighed in, some of whom applauded her growth and others who felt the situations were more similar than she’d like to admit.
“Exactly it’s about growing and bettering ourselves and Kristen has done that,” one person said.
“Literally you’ve changed so much! Through the seasons I started to realized how much you were bullied,” another agreed.
But a third said, “She wants us to forget that she did the exact same thing!!!” A fourth asked, “How are you different than Raquel???”
