Jimmy Vesey will likely play in the Rangers' Sunday afternoon game against the New York Islanders.
Jimmy Vesey is trending on making a return for the New York Rangers’ Sunday afternoon matchup against the New York Islanders.
Vesey was activated from long-term injured reserve as the Rangers passed the 10-game mark.
The 31-year-old has been a full participant at practice for well over a week now and took reps with the fourth line alongside Sam Carrick and Adam Edström on Saturday.
During training camp, Vesey went down and was laboring in pain on the ice as he quickly limped his way back into the locker room.
Matt Rempe was sent down to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League, indicating that Vesey will be back in the lineup.
Last season, Vesey recorded 13 goals, 13 assists and 26 points in 80 games while averaging 12:23 minutes pergame.
