Jill Zarin speaks out about why RHONY Legacy never came to be.
I don’t know what’s more devastating, the fact we never got the actual RHONY Legacy or RHUGT Morocco being scrapped.
In case you missed it: When news broke that the Real Housewives of New York would receive a facelift, fans were sad to learn we wouldn’t see the OG faces anymore. But, Bravo heard our pleas and met us in the middle. They would still move forward with a rebooted cast AND bring back the OGs for a “legacy show.”
The OG show would feature Kelly Bensimon, Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan. Plus, good ol’ Jill Zarin.
It came out that a big reason for the show no longer being greenlit was because of Jill.
A source close to Kelly Bensimon told Page Six, that the negotiations fell apart because Jill was “pushing for a big payday” and it was “the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
Jill Responds
The face of Zarin Fabrics has worked overtime, like harder than she did on RHONY, to refute the claims.
Even recently as yesterday by way of The Cut.
The former apple holder opened up to the publication saying,
“Bravo put out a story that I was asking for a million dollars an episode. They wanted to make me look bad, which wasn’t nice,” she begins.
“They wanted to punish me, so they didn’t invite me [for RHUGT]. But really the punishment was for the fans… I will never do a television show that I don’t have control over again.”
Real Housewives of New York Legacy
Bravo did end up moving forward with a more condensed version of the original pitch — an ultimate girls trip.
Sadly for the “thirstiest” Housewife, Jill was NOT invited to party in St. Barts.
The cast did however feature Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Luann de Lesseps, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer and Kristen Taekman.
