Jacob Trouba Responds To Spittin’ Chiclets Podcast For Personal Attack

Rangers' Jacob Trouba brings up Grayson Murray's suicide after podcaster ripped his playoffs performance | Fox NewsJacob Trouba decided to raise awareness for alarmingly high suicide rates when he responded to the Spittin’ Chiclets Podcast.

New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba responded to the Spittin’ Chiclets Podcast after receiving a personal attack.

Spittin’ Chiclets producer Pasha Eshghi mentioned Trouba’s charity work and his wife, Kelly, while criticizing his play.

“Trouba and his wife founded the Trouba Creative Expression Arts Program which offers art services to adults with epilepsy and seizures,” Eshghi said. “Well, you want to know the irony of that situation? Trouba’s wife is a neuroscience major. Maybe Jacob should go home and get a lesson from his wife about the dangers of concussions that can lead to epilepsy and seizures before he goes around concussing guys on a daily basis.”

In response, Trouba linked the video of Eshghi’s comments on X and sent a message warning people about the alarming high rates of suicide.

“Suicide rates have doubled in the past 20 years in U.S. college athletes [per U.S. News and World Report],” Trouba wrote. “11 days ago, a PGA Tour golfer tragically took his own life after a mental health battle and people asked how that was possible. We must do better than this.”

The 30-year-old defenseman announced that, for the next 30 days, his 24-inch print sales from his paintings that he does will be donated to Athletes for Hope, an organization that works with athletes “of all levels and backgrounds to make the world a better place through community service and advocacy.”
