Carl Radke lost six figures when he canceled his November 2023 wedding to his former fiance, Lindsay Hubbard.

During an appearance on Nick Viall‘s podcast this week, the 40-year-old Summer House star looked back on the end of his relationship with Lindsay, 38, revealed how he learned of her pregnancy, and shared his thoughts on her new boyfriend, Turner Kufe, while also addressing dating rumors and admitting he was upset with Kyle Cooke, 42, due to his treatment of his wife, Amanda Batula, 33.

“I wrote statements, I had planned podcast interviews that I canceled. I thought a lot about sharing my side of the story. But it felt, to me, as a male, getting a public platform and trying to defend myself, it just didn’t feel right,” Carl began on the February 5 episode of The Viall Files of the moments that followed his and Lindsay’s breakup.

Although Carl was accused of “blindsiding” Lindsay with the split, he insisted he wasn’t planning to call it quits when they did.

“I missed the cancellation for our wedding to get a full refund by seven days. I wasn’t thinking about canceling anything other than trying to get on the same page with her. Had I been about seven days sooner, I would have saved around $150,000. But that wasn’t in my brain,” he explained. “I was just trying to land the plane with her … If I was smart, I would’ve done it two months prior and saved myself a ton of money, pain, and misery.”

After their breakup, Lindsay wasted no time moving on, rekindling a past romance with Turner and announcing she was expecting months later, which Carl found out about on social media.

“I knew she was seeing someone. I think shortly after we broke up she was, from what I understand, dating the country music singer who was going to sing at our wedding [Dustin Lynch] or [we] had been pursuing him. [But] it was a shock,” he admitted. “It was something she always wanted … So it was so happy. I think what really hit me was, ‘Damn, that was fast.’ I hadn’t even had sex with anybody since her and I’m, like, ‘She’s already pregnant?'”

While Carl has only seen Lindsay’s baby, daughter Gemma, in photos online, he has crossed paths with Turner, first seeing him at a wedding last year.

“I’ve never met him personally but Kyle has said to me a few times, ‘He seems like a nice guy and treats her well.’ And that’s all that matters,” he stated.

At the end of season eight, Carl and Lindsay were not in a good place — and understandably so. But when it came to production on season nine, they agreed to appear together for the sake of the series.

“It’s like two co-workers who you know don’t like each other but they’re here for the greater good of the business,” Carl explained, proceeding to tease their first season nine scene. “I basically was like, ‘Congrats. I’m happy for you.’ And then she was like, ‘Yeah, told you I’d be pregnant.'”

Then asked about the rumors regarding him and The Bachelor alum Maria Georgas, Carl said dating claims were “not true,” insisting that he didn’t know who she was.

Looking back on his years-long romance with Lindsay, Carl admitted to regretting not staying sober for longer before getting into a relationship as he revealed that the two of them did their best to implement the communication skills learned in therapy before splitting.

“How it all transpired, us getting together, it was almost destined to be … [But] I was advised by many people to stay sober [for] a year and I did break that rule,” he noted. “I’ve learned a ton over the last couple of years as a result of this [whole] thing … I’m glad I tried to pursue a relationship with her, [but] I wish I could have handled things differently. I never wanted to hurt her.”

Moving on to Kyle and Amanda, Carl revealed that he didn’t like seeing Kyle slam Amanda as “b*tch” during an argument on their show.

“There’s been a lot between them and I love them both, but how you deliver frustration or communication with your wife really does matter, especially when you’re on a show,” he explained. “[If] you’re screaming or yelling or staring, it’s not good and I was not happy with him, and trust me, he’s not happy with himself.”

As for his own desire to settle down, Carl confirmed he does want a family.

“A lot of my friends are married. A lot of my friends have kids … Since my brother has passed, I’ve looked at my niece and I see her and I see my brother in her and I want to have children. I want to have a family,” he stated.

Also on the podcast, Carl opened up about his tense moments with Lindsay.

“We had some conflict. It’ll be good TV but it was almost like we needed to have that,” he shared. “It allowed me, and I didn’t know at the time but I want her happy. I really care about Lindsay … I’ve seen the little girl inside that I want to flourish and be happy — and I saw that little girl over this summer, where she was smiling and really happy.”

Summer House season nine premieres Wednesday, February 12, at 9/8c on Bravo.
