Former Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos and her fiancé, Chock Chapple, are still narrowing down a date for their upcoming nuptials.
When asked by a user during an Instagram Story Q&A when the couple were planning to tie the knot, Chock, 61, replied, “We get asked all the time.”
“Somebody today at lunch said, ’[20]25?’” Chock recalled on Tuesday, January 14. “And I said, ‘Maybe at the end of [20]25 or [20]26.’”
Chock said that he and Joan, 62, are continuing to get “closer” while “having a lot of fun together just getting to know each other.” He added, “So it’s time well spent.”
Chock popped the question to Joan during the season 1 finale of The Golden Bachelorette, which aired in November 2024. After the couple celebrated their engagement, Joan and Chock exclusively told Us Weekly that they weren’t walking down the aisle anytime soon — unlike former Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and his ex-wife, Theresa Nist.
“You’re absolutely not going to see a TV wedding in three months. I loved that ending for Gerry and Theresa,” Joan told Us. “The reason we’re not having a wedding in three months has nothing to do with Gerry and Theresa. I just don’t want to have another thing I have to plan right now. When we come together for a wedding, which could be a TV wedding, might not be, it won’t be in three months. I just don’t want to have another thing to plan right now. We are loving being together, and I want to take the time for us to get to know each other’s families and friends.”
For now, Joan and Chock planned to find a new residence in New York City — a location that is near their East Coast based kids. (Joan shared four kids with late husband John Vassos, while Chock welcomed two children with ex-wife Heather.)
“This first year, obviously, we have to kind of figure out life. Chock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids and Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he does have obligations in Kansas,” Joan told Us. “We know that we’re gonna spend time in Maryland and in Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed — and we’re finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true — that we live in a big city, and, specifically, we’ve always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, ‘I want us to go find a place.’”
