Aaron Judge’s brutal postseason is now a cross-sports punchline.
Fox announcer Greg Olsen took a swipe at the Yankees superstar during the Saints’ 20-17 upset win over the Falcons on Sunday, referencing Judge’s brutal dropped ball in center field in Game 5 of the World Series that played a major role in the Yankees losing to the Dodgers.
The joke came as Olsen broke down a similarly bad drop by star New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara that prevented a potential touchdown.

Alvin Kamara was quite open when he dropped this pass.

“That’s Aaron Judge dropping the ball in the fifth inning of the World Series,” Olsen said. “There’s no explanation.”
Judge is going to have to live the brutal reality that his awful October is going to be used against him and he will be the butt of jokes until he changes the narrative about his play in the postseason.
It’s one thing to hit .184 (9-for-49), but the usually stout center fielder made one of the worst errors you’ll ever see in Game 5 when he dropped a routine fly ball hit to him in center field.

That drop aided the Dodgers’ rally from a five-run hole to tie the game in that fateful fifth inning en route to their eventual 7-6 win.
No one will compare the Saints’ Week 10 victory over the Falcons in the “I’m only watching because of fantasy or gambling” clash to that of a World Series game, but it was quite stunning to see Kamara drop what should have been an easy touchdown Sunday.

Kamara had nothing but green in front of him after beating a linebacker, but the usually sure-handed receiver had the ball just deflected off his fingertips.
Olsen’s commentary perhaps was influenced by him calling the game alongside Joe Davis, the Dodgers’ broadcaster who did play-by-play for the World Series.

Davis labeled Kamara’s blunder as an “impossible drop.”
The Saints, unlike the Yankees, could laugh about Kamara’s miss since they won in interim coach Darren Rizzi’s debut to improve to 3-7.
