Fresh twist in Strictly row as furious Wynne Evans sues producers after he broke foot & was told to keep dancing - suong

STRICTLY is facing yet another kicking — as Wynne Evans is suing for medical negligence over a broken foot.

The Go Compare ad star, 53, is said to have suffered a double fracture and two snapped ligaments while dancing on the live tour.

But sources claim he was simply bandaged up and told to continue performing.

He is now suing production company Phil McIntyre Entertainments for personal injury, claiming inadequate backstage medical provision.

The Welshman is also fighting for £11,000 in outstanding fees his team believes he is owed.

He left the tour after footage emerged of him saying a lewd sexual term — “spit-roast” — at the launch in Birmingham.

Just days before the scandal broke in January, he tripped and fell off stage in Newcastle.

A source said: “He was basically strapped up, and told to keep smiling and carry on. He was in agony.

“The following night, he had to pull out of Glasgow then the following day ‘spit-roast-gate’ kicked off — just as his foot started to swell up.”

An MRI scan showed a broken foot, fractured ankle and two snapped ligaments. He is still struggling to walk pain-free nearly four months on.

The source went on: “He is still owed money from the dates he didn’t perform at.

“Wynne’s lawyers told him he had a legitimate injury claim — his physio costs are spiralling and he hasn’t been allowed to work during this time. So he has decided to sue the production company, something that won’t be affecting taxpayers.”

Wynne was also removed from his BBC Wales show while an investigation into the Birmingham incident continues. 

Rajar figures this week show listeners have deserted the station, which fans on X put down to his exit.

The Go Compare star is not the first celeb to be injured on Strictly.

Zara McDermott carried on dancing with a stress fracture of the leg which later required an operation. And Paralympian Will Bayley fell from a box in rehearsals and was left with “life-altering” injuries.

It is the latest bombshell for the BBC show, coming after a bullying probe into pro Giovanni Pernice following allegations by Sherlock star Amanda Abbington.

A spokesperson for Wynne declined to comment. Phil McIntyre Entertainments was also approached for comment.
