Fox Sports personalities Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson spilled the tea about when Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold apparently spread “false information” about Thompson’s dating life.
During the latest episode of their “Calm Down” podcast, Thompson recalled how Darnold claimed she hooked up with an unnamed person — which she denied — and said she had planned to confront him.
However, Andrews explained she had already taken it up with Darnold on the sidelines as a veteran NFL reporter with Fox.
“[He] was spreading some rumors about me that I had dated some random – not dated – that I hooked up with this guy,” Thompson said, laughing. “And I was like, ‘I never hooked up with that guy, Sam Darnold, don’t you dare say that.’
“And it got back to me, so we’re setting the record straight.”
That’s when Andrews recalled telling Darnold that Thompson had “a bone to pick” with him.
“I told him during the pregame one time,” Andrews said.
“I said ‘Ohh, Charissa’s got a bone to pick with you.'”
The Fox Sports personalities laughed over what seemed to be a complete misunderstanding with Darnold.
They did not share any further details.
Thompson is currently dating Steven Cundari, the co-founder of Summit House, a full-service creative marketing and advertising agency.
She previously shared that they were set up by mutual friends, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly.
Thompson shared the story on her and Andrews’ podcast after she praised Darnold for leading the Vikings to a 3-0 start this season.
The former first-round pick with the Jets went 17-for-28 for 181 yards and four touchdowns in Minnesota’s statement 34-7 win over the Texans last week.
Prior to joining the Vikings this offseason, the 27-year-old quarterback spent 2023 with the 49ers. He was traded to the Panthers in 2021 after three years in New York.
The Vikings (3-0) face the Packers (2-1) in Green Bay on Sunday.
