Few rivalries in NFL history are as storied or as ugly as the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.
From fans calling out Dallas before the 1980 NFC Championship Game to the Buddy Ryan-Jimmy Johnson feud to the modern era, there is plenty of disdain between the Birds and the 'Boys.
As new players get brought to each team every year, they are introduced to the rivalry right away. In the case of slot cornerback Cooper DeJean, he's seen firsthand how important Sunday's game is for the pride of the entire city.
And sees how losing isn't really an option.
“Definitely felt it in the atmosphere with the fans, a lot of screaming and heckling at us which is good,” DeJean said. “Those games mean a lot more just because we play them twice a year and they’re in your division. I’m looking forward to many more.”
DeJean may be new to the rivalry, but Brandon Graham certainly isn't. In fact, of all the active players on either roster, he understands better than anyone how important this week is for both teams.
Especially with the Cowboys barely hanging above water at 3-5.
“Them ’Boys always got a good line, always gonna play us hard, the defense flies around, and they always seem faster in Dallas,” said Graham. “We have to make sure we go out there and bring our intensity to the game and make sure we keep it all the way throughout the game.”
