Eagles Insider Reacts To Deion Sanders To Hot Cowboys Rumor - suong

FRISCO - With another 14-win season and a playoff victory under their belt, it's easy to see how the Philadelphia Eagles will choose to retain head coach Nick Sirianni after all.

The same can't be said for Philadelphia's arch-rival here in Big D.

The Dallas Cowboys have parted ways with head coach Mike McCarthy - a move that to our Philly beat writer Nick Faria can be seen as a positive or negative for a team like the Eagles.

Writes Faria, "Dallas immediately vaults into one of the top coaching roles this offseason with a top offense and defense with plenty of All-Pros on their roster.

"It's a safe bet to see how the Cowboys could get any coach they want for their role.''

That's an interesting perspective from Philly - a high level of respect for all things Cowboys.

Deion is "sort of'' the first name tied to Dallas' head coaching search. Why do we say "sort of''? Because our Mike Fisher broke the story that the hullabaloo here is more about Sanders trying to gain contract leverage at Colorado than it is about moving here to The Star.

As Faria notes, Deion "hasn't had coaching experience in the NFL, but does carry a rather big publicity portfolio.''

Sanders, the Hall-of-Fame cornerback turned head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes has told ESPN that he has had talks with Jerry Jones regarding the head coaching role, and he has interest in the potential opening.

But again, here's the truth, via Fish ... click below.

Sanders has done a great job of turning around programs both at Jackson State and Colorado compiling a 40-18 combined record at the helm of both schools.

Would he be ready to take over the top role of the most profitable NFL team in the league?

From Faria: "There are plenty of questions that would need to be answered if so ranging from Sanders' relationship with his sons and Travis Hunter coming out of the 2025 Draft, as well as the team's current standing with Dak Prescott. ... Whatever happens, though, the Eagles can at least rely on the fact that Dallas won't be quiet regarding their coaching search.''
