Sami opened up about the previous strain between her and her mom on Gia Giudice's podcast 'Casual Chaos'

The oldest daughter of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen reflected on the trials and tribulations she's endured in her "really difficult" relationships with both her parents during an April 14 appearance on Gia Giudice's podcast, Casual Chaos.
The 21-year-old admitted to Giudice, 24, that she and her mom "didn't speak for almost a year" during the period when she lived with her dad in 2021.
"I was living at my mom's, obviously, with [Richards' husband] Aaron [Phypers] and Lola and we were all fighting constantly. I did not get along with anyone. I kind of felt like the odd one out and being the older sister, the blame was like always thrown on me for everything," Sami recalled. "I was really struggling mentally in that house and there's obviously a lot that I wish I could say, but I'll get in trouble for saying."
"But yeah, I just felt like, at the time, me and my dad were on good terms and it was a more peaceful environment. So I wanted to try out living there and like, it was great until it wasn't," she said of the time she spent living with Charlie, 59, during which she and Richards, 54, weren't in contact.
Sami's decision to move in with her dad was revealed on TikTok, as she called her mom's house a "hell house" and alleged she had been "trapped in an abusive household" while she lived there.
A source then told PEOPLE that Richards was "saddened by the situation" and that she had "set normal rules" for her then 17-year-old daughter.

Charlie, meanwhile, said in a statement about the relocation: "Sam is amazing. I love her and all my children unconditionally. We're having a ball. GED here we come."
By 2023, Sami had left her dad's house and was living on her own, a source told PEOPLE at the time, noting that Richards and her daughter were "closer than ever now" after a rocky few years.

On the podcast, Sami said that she was "expecting girls my age to be like, 'Oh my god. I'm in the same boat as you. I also don't get along with my mom'" after she shared that she'd moved out, but that wasn't the case at all.
"People were like, 'How dare you have it so nice.' I'm like, you guys have no idea. What goes on behind closed doors is crazy."
She added that her dad "loved that I was taking his side now after all these years and he was the favorite parent."

Her eventual decision to get her own place, though, stemmed from a desire to "start to find myself and have my own space and my own environment," as it was "really lonely" living with Charlie.

"I was like, this is not working. My mom's is not working. So I lived with a friend for a little bit and then I went back to my mom's right after I turned 18 and I just was like, I cannot do this. So that's when I started OnlyFans and I got an apartment a month later and I've been living in an apartment ever since."
