The Yankees have landed their man to replace the legendary John Sterling.
Mariners TV announcer Dave Sims is nearing a deal to become WFAN’s new play-by-play broadcaster on Yankees games, the Yankees announced, confirming an earlier report from The Post that a deal was near.

A WFAN official did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Sources told The Post that the Yankees approve of WFAN’s choice for him to succeed Sterling.
Sims joins longtime Yankees voice Suzyn Waldman in the booth.
It is something of a full circle moment for the 71-year-old Sims, who was a midday sports talk host on WFAN with Ed Coleman from 1989-93.
The Post previously reported that Sims and Rickie Ricardo were the two finalists.
Sterling, 86, retired in April this past season after 35 years on the job but returned to call the Yankees’ postseason run that lasted until the World Series.
