Spoiler alert: Dave Hand and Jamie Marinos from MAFS Australia definitely aren’t together anymore. In a deeply unexpected turn of events, Jamie is actually dating Eliot, and Dave has quite a few opinions about it. We knew Dave and Jamie made it to Final Vows, and then split up sometime after, but the time in the middle was an enduring mystery. Now, Dave has shed some light on exactly how his relationship with Jamie went wrong after MAFS Australia.
Jamie previously hinted that Dave “did kind of ghost [her] a bit after the reunion”. But Dave has denied this.
He told The Sun: “I definitely didn’t ghost Jamie. I think that’s an easy thing to say ‘oh I just ghosted her,’ but that definitely didn’t happen.
“At her final vows she was quite sick and then I got sick, and the communication probably did drop off a little bit.
And then I ended up helping her move house into her sisters apartment, and then we went out for dinner and had a conversation and said this probably isn’t it. So there definitely wasn’t a ghosting.”

Dave has explained there was a really sad reason for why his feelings about Jamie seemed to suddenly change on MAFS Australia. His dad was battling cancer, so Dave found it hard to focus on the experiment.
Dave’s account of his relationship with Jamie after MAFS Australia is quite different to what Jamie has said.
She told Yahoo Lifestyle: “When we went back into our home life, it was glaringly, bloody obvious he wasn’t into me… I initiated the break-up about two weeks after Final Vows, and his response was everything I needed to confirm that I was making the right decision, which was silence and just being agreeable.”
She continued: “When I called him out on it, we kind of got to a better place, but he had made no effort to see me. We did see each other for dinner once, but the friendship just dissipated.”
