Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo lived through an unexpected hurdle recently. The Summer House star had her first panic attack just before going on stage on September 24 for one of her Giggly Squad’s live shows.
And her Southern Charm-ing boyfriend was on hand to help her through. He then praised his reality TV girlfriend for how she handled the challenge. Most importantly, Paige is feeling well after the shocking situation.
Craig Conover praised Paige DeSorbo’s “nature of transparency”
“I was actually at a work dinner in Missouri and my partner noticed my phone was being—she was calling me, so I answered and she was having a panic attack and I was able to work her through it,” Craig told E! News. “It was scary for everyone involved because you’re not there to help and she was so brave and she pushed through.”
After getting the situation under control, Paige took to the stage with co-host Hannah Berner and shared her experience with the audience that night. Craig praised her for sharing her vulnerability.
“In her awesome nature of transparency, she shared it with all of her listeners that night at the show,” the Sewing Down South founder said. “What we realize is the more honest we are with stuff, people are like, ‘Oh me too, me too.'”
“So, she’s on this journey trying to figure it out, because it came out of nowhere,” he added. “She’s sharing this journey with everyone, and I hope she’s able to connect and help others.”
Paige was “part frustrated” because the panic came out of nowhere
In her own words, Paige revealed that she had her “first real legit panic attack.” The anxiety came out of nowhere, and the Summer House star said she didn’t know “what it was about.”
“I was about to go onstage in front of 3000 people, so you can be like, ‘Oh yeah, it’s stage fright,’ except that I’ve done that 50 times before,” she explained. “I’ve been on reality TV for six years, you can’t say anything to me that’s going to rattle me at this point, I was part frustrated because I was like, ‘What is going on what my body?'”
The fashion contributor took a beta blocker to deal with the immediate symptoms. Besides that, Paige has “never been on medicine for anxiety before” despite dealing with “general anxiety.”
She said, “I was always like, ‘I’m stronger than that. This is all in my head. I’m strong enough to tell myself to snap out of it,’ and I just wasn’t. Admitting that to yourself is part of the battle.”
“I didn’t plan for this to happen,” Paige added. “This is my job so I know I can do it. It’s obviously something that’s happening for me that I need to figure out.”
The Bravolebrity was flooded with support from fans. Some sent tips for dealing with anxiety and panic attacks.
“I’m so thankful to the other Gigglers,” Paige shared. “Because I did feel less alone.”
