FRISCO - As we reported exclusively earlier this week, Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy - in the final year of his five-year contract with "America's Team'' and therefore a lame-duck boss who figures to not be renewed for 2025 - put up for sale his Dallas-area mansion in July. ... and sealed a deal with a buyer in early November.
But now we're told that deal has fallen through, so the $5.7 million home is one again available. (Again, see our original reporting here.)
McCarthy is about to be victimized, in a sense, by the Cowboys' "Blow It Up'' plan; the franchise has a chance to have$100 million in cap room next spring to fuel a roster remodel that figures to be supervised in part by a new coaching staff.
Obviously, McCarthy doesn't need his $5.7 million mansion in Allen, located about 10 miles from team headquarters at the Star in Frisco. At the same time, depending on what he does in the 2025 NFL season, his family could opt to stay in DFW.
And so while he might be moving out of this property - with its fashionable Mediterranean exterior and its contemporary interior) is 8,346 square feet and features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a full workout room, a sauna and an incredible backyard featuring a gorgeous swimming pool, all inside a private gated community - the McCarthy clan could simply set up shop right down the street in another lovely area home.
