The Dallas Cowboys have already lost several coaches and assistants this offseason, and there will likely be more to come.
But one downside of losing coaches or assistants to other teams is that sometimes they will try to poach players to go with them.
John "Bones" Fassel was the Cowboys' special teams coordinator and has now moved to the Tennessee Titans. As it turns out, Bones has his eye on a certain kicker that he wants to reunite with in Tennessee.
All-Pro kicker Brandon Aubrey was a guest on The Dumb Zone podcast and revealed that Fassel will try and trade for him this offseason.
"He told me he's going to try and trade for me," Aubrey said. "I don't know if that is out of any sort of reality or whatnot, but he's a great dude, and we're going to miss him."
Is thus funny? Controversial? Tampering?
Aubrey will be in the last year on his contract in 2025 and we imagine that Jerry Jones and Co. will want the All-Pro to put pen to paper on a new contract as he emerged as one of the best kickers in football.
Losded with dynamite in his right leg, Aubrey was often called into action by then-head coach Mike McCarthy for long-range bombs, and Brandon repaid that faith, nailing 14 of his 17 field goals from 50+ yards.
But it appears that Fassel wants to try to lure him to the Titans, and given how special a weapon "Butter" is, the Cowboys better get that new contract in front of him as soon as possible.
