“our little boy is coming this fall ,” Underwood, 32, captioned his Instagram announcement, which featured ultrasound photos.
The upload also included snippets from his magazine profile, in which he detailed his journey to fatherhood.
While the Bachelor Nation member assumed he would have “healthy” fertility, a semen sample of his only resulted in four sperm — and “three of them [were] dead.”

Underwood recalled, “Word for word, what the doctor said, he goes, ‘Uh, I can maybe make this one work.’”
Brown, for his part, had “a crazy amount of sperm, like, 50 or 55 million.”
Underwood explained that vigorous exercise and his daily hot tub, sauna and bath use had resulted in low numbers. He went to “sperm rehab” and reversed some of the damage with testosterone.

Underwood and Brown, 41, then paid $350,000 to undergo in vitro fertilization and conceive with the help of a gestational carrier.
“Some people want blue eyes and blond hair,” the former reality star said of their search for an egg donor. “We want somebody deep and cool. I believe in nature versus nurture. So give us the basics and we can show this kid love.”
With 22 eggs, the couple fertilized three embryos — and had “sexy time” of their own during the surrogate’s transfer.

They found out about the transfer’s success 10 days later.
