The Cleveland Browns might be getting ready to make a few more moves at the NFL trade deadline.  Even though Jameis Winston is a clear upgrade over Deshaun Watson, this is not a playoff team, and they've got some aging players that could best serve them on new teams.

Getting some draft capital back for certain players is the best path forward for the Browns, and Vinnie Iyer has projected a trade where Cleveland sends their All-Pro running back to the Dallas Cowboys:

"The Browns need to get Chubb to a contending team's backfield. The Cowboys scream "good fit," as they've resorted to Dalvin Cook for help. This makes sense for both teams if the Cowboys are willing to part with a mid-tier trade asset." - Vinnie Iyer

Oddly, the Cowboys did not sign Derrick Henry in free agency.  It felt like the most logical fit, and now the team is paying the price.  Not only do they have one of the worst rushing attacks in the NFL, but they also can't stop the run on defense.

Had they signed Henry, not only would they have been able to run the ball more efficiently, but them being able to sustain drives would have also taken pressure off of the defense, so it's been a brutal scenario all around for Dallas.

However, if they are able to land Chubb as Iyer predicts, it could be just enough to get the run game going.  If the team has any chance at making the postseason in 2024, it's going to need to come via a Wild Card seed, and being able to run the ball is a hallmark of any functioning NFL team.

The Dallas Cowboys may not have a ton of options, but taking a chance on a former All-Pro back in Nick Chubb makes sense, and for the Browns, it would be another needed step forward to rebuilding this roster the right way.
