PHILADELPHIA Eagles Super Bowl winner CJ Gardner-Johnson is firing off on his old team.
The defensive back has revealed people showed their "true colors" to him following an offseason trade.
Gardner-Johnson was a part of the Eagles' Super Bowl winning team as a starting cornerback.
However, he was traded to the Houston Texans on March 11 with a 2026 sixth-round pick for guard Kenyon Green and a 2026 fifth-round pick.
On Monday, Gardner-Johnson posted on his Instagram Story to reveal how people reacted to his trade.
"People showed me their true colors when I got traded, s***," he said.
"That's why you ain't heard or seen from me."
Gardner-Johnson has largely been inactive on social media following his trade from the Eagles.
The last major post he made was a farewell message to the Eagles and the team's fans.
"This decision wasn't mine, but I walk away proud of what we built together," he wrote.
"Becoming a 2-time NFC champion and Super Bowl champion, the forced fumbles and game-sealing interceptions - those moments belong to US.
"You taught me greatness isn't just about highlights - it's about clawing back, harder and fiercer, just like this city does every day."
Gardner-Johnson had a great 2024 season in his return to the Eagles.
He caught six interceptions in 16 regular season games and scored a defensive touchdown.
Gardner-Johnson started his career with the New Orleans Saints after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
He spent three years in New Orleans before being traded to the Eagles in 2022.
The cornerback spent just one year in Philly before signing with the Detroit Lions in 2023.
However, his 2023 season was riddled with injuries and he played in just three games.
Gardner-Johnson decided to return to the Eagles in 2024 and ultimately won the Super Bowl with them.
Now he heads to Houston to help a young squad compete for playoff wins.
Gardner-Johnson has two more years left on his deal after being traded to the Texans, but there is a potential out after the 2025 season.
If he sees out his contract he will be a free agent in 2027 at 30 years old.
