Chris Kreider issues an emotional farewell message while opening up on being traded to the Ducks

The New York Rangers traded away their longest-tenured player today. For 13 years, Chris Kreider has been a Blueshirt. Now, Mr. Ranger has gone and exited to the West Coast, as he's issued an emotional message upon his departure from the team.Chris Kreider

The New York Rangers faithful will have to say goodbye to Chris Kreider. Known as "Mr. Ranger". He served as an Alternate Captain and began his career here, but now it's come to a tragic end as he will never win a cup here. Or have the chance to again.
GM Chris Drury dealt him to the Anaheim Ducks on June 12th, 2025, as he waived his no-trade clause to be sent to the West Coast. He'll join Jacob Trouba on an upstart Ducks team that has playoff aspirations.
Yet for Kreider, this parting is bittersweet, as he issued an emotional statement learning he would be leaving New York for Orange County, California.

This may seem sad for many Rangers fans, and undeniably it is. They may harbor some ill will towards Chris Drury, and who doesn't really? He's done a lot of unpopular things this season, including trading Kaapo Kakko.
But for Kreider, he mentioned the deal involved a lot of communication with Drury on the backend.
Now, he says goodbye to the Big Apple, where he grew, matured, and raised his family. It was home to him.
Going through multiple stages of grief is relatable, and for Kreider, he'll be saying bye to many of his friends in the lineup as he begins his new journey with the Anaheim Ducks.
An unbelievable sentence to us here to be typed, or said.
Chris Kreider was sent to Anaheim with a 2025 fourth-round pick.
The Ducks take on his full cap hit, while sending back Center Carey Terrance and a 2025 third-round pick.
