New York Rangers Insider and hockey analyst Peter Baugh was the first to report that the New York Rangers have signed former Pittsburgh Penguins forward and two-time Stanley Cup champion Conor Sheary to a Professional Tryout.
Rangers have signed Conor Sheary to a PTO. He was on Mike Sullivan's Cup-winning teams in Pittsburgh. He'll be a depth forward option if he makes the team.

Conor Sheary has a pretty significant National Hockey League resume

Conor Sheary has won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins with New York Rangers newest head coach Mike Sullivan back during the 2015-16, 2016-17 seasons.
The 5'8", 182-pound winger has appeared in 593 NHL games to date while playing for several teams including the Penguins, Sabres, Capitals, and finally the Tampa Bay Lighting. However, his most successful season comes in recent years during his time with the Washington Capitals, as Sheary tallied 43 points in 37 games back in 2021-22

What Conor Sheary hopes to achieve during his PTO with the New York Rangers

According to reports from Mollie Walker of the New York Post, the 33-year old winger Conor Sheary hopes to return to the NHL scene after spending most of the 2024-25 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning's American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
"After spending most of the 2024-25 campaign with the Lightning's AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, the 33-year-old Sheary is looking to return to the NHL scene."

However, only time will tell if he will actually make the team or not, but with connections and being familiar with Mike Sullivan his chances are high.
