The Cleveland Browns are in somewhat of a transition ... again ... entering 2025.
Next week's NFL Draft could help make or break the Browns' season, and they've got 10 total picks to fill a lot of holes.
Coming off an abysmal 3-14 season that saw several position groups on both sides of the ball underperform, there was no bigger unit that failed than the offensive line.
One of those offensive linemen is in for a big salary cap hit, and one Browns writer wants him gone before that happens.
Chris Schad of FactoryOfSadness.com thinks Cleveland should trade 30-year-old guard Wyatt Teller ahead of his $14.175 cap hit next season. But not necessarily because of his declining play.
"Wyatt Teller has been a fixture on the Browns' offensive line and was even considered one of the best guards in football a few years ago," Schad wrote. "But as he enters his age-30 season, it may be time for the Browns to move on and find a trade partner ahead of the draft."
To his point, Pro Football Network's Sterling Xie postulated that the Dallas Cowboys could be interested in Teller's services.
“Cleveland hasn’t shown a desire to move its core pieces, and the 30-year-old Wyatt Teller would likely have strong trade value as well,” Xie wrote. “...The Seahawks and Vikings both ranked in the bottom five in pressures allowed from guards last year and could immediately plug Teller in as a starter. The Cowboys were among the best teams in pass protection from guards but lost future Hall of Famer Zack Martin to retirement. Teller could immediately step in as Martin’s successor at right guard.”
