Browns land superstar QB in latest mock draft

The Cleveland Browns have been one of the NFL’s most disappointing teams after starting 2-7. Despite having what many considered a top-five roster talent-wise, Cleveland is playing either for pride or draft position moving forward.

Currently, the Browns own the fourth overall pick in next year’s draft and many assume that the quarterback position will be a major priority after the failure of the Deshaun Watson trade. Cleveland may not have an opportunity to pick this high in the draft for some time if the remaining roster gets back to their capabilities.

Our own Vinnie Iyer dropped his latest 2025 mock draft earlier today and addressed the most important position in football for the Browns. After selecting Shedeur Sanders for the New York Giants at number two overall, Iyer predicted Cleveland to take Miami’s Cam Ward with the selection.

Iyer noted: "The Browns need to move on from Deshaun Watson by at least thinking about 2026, and Ward would give them a strong-armed pocket passer who can work well in this system should Kevin Stefanski and Ken Dorsey remain intact as the offensive leaders."

Ward may have the highest ceiling of all of the draft-eligible quarterbacks in the draft. Ironically, Watson has been a popular comparison for Ward’s play style.

Ward has thrived out of structure and hunting for big throws after plays break down, similar to what made Watson successful in Houston. For that reason, it’s easy to assume that Browns fans may be apprehensive about taking Ward.
