The Valley's Brittany Cartwright wanted to "give a little context" to a buzzed-about situation that involved her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, and his bar.
Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor separated in February 2024, and they've been navigating how to manage the shared aspects of their lives ever since. One such aspect, Jax's Studio City, the bar and restaurant Jax opened in October 2023 with the help of his then-wife, is carrying over some unfinished business.
On the April 18 episode of her podcast, When Reality Hits, Brittany spoke about Bravo fans noticing Jax recently crossed out "Mamaw's Beer Cheese" on the menu at Jax's Studio City — an item connected to Brittany via her grandmother, or "Mamaw."
"Something else funny that happened this week that went pretty viral was...Jax's bar, the menu, they took a Sharpie and Sharpie-d through 'Mamaw's Beer Cheese,' and I just want to give a little context to that," Brittany began on the episode, where The Valley's Zack Wickham was a guest. "It's because I asked them to take it off the menu. I own 'Mamaw's Beer Cheese,' I have it trademarked, that I pay for, and everything else. [And] after Britt's bar was sold without my knowledge and everything else that happened with that whole thing, and just, like, where Jax and I stand right now, I don't want to be associated with that bar, and I definitely don't want my Mamaw to be associated with it."
Brittany Cartwright explains why she wasn't getting a return on investment in Jax's Studio City
Brittany continued in her statement by pointing out more of her financial reasoning behind taking the item off the Jax's Studio City menu.
"It looks super petty, but I will take the blame for that. Because I said, 'You have to take it off,' and I own that, and I have not made a dollar from that place," she shared. "I put in a lot of money toward that place, and I never got paid back for it, and I've never seen a dollar from 'Mamaw's Beer Cheese' or anything, so I was like, 'I'm done.' I'm not trying to be petty or rude, but I just feel like it's realistic, like, why would it be there?"
"That's called a business decision," Zack stepped in to say.
"I will figure out another way to get Mamaw's Beer Cheese to the world," Brittany concluded.

Brittany Cartwright reveals why her new bar, Britt's WeHo, is no longer opening
After splitting from Jax (and Jax's Studio City, effectively), Brittany was set on opening her own bar and restaurant, Britt's WeHo. However, the Kentucky native recently revealed that the business is no longer moving forward.
On the April 4 episode of When Reality Hits, Brittany explained that her business partners "sold Rocco’s, which was what Britt’s was connected to," without informing her. “The partners straight up sold it, didn’t tell me that they were going to sell it, didn’t communicate with me whatsoever,” she said.
Brittany shared that she had believed everything was on track for the opening. “We had already completely decorated everything… We ordered everything on January 7th. So, I thought that it was happening up until like this week. They told me that it got sold.”
Later in the episode, Brittany speculated that the recent fires in Los Angeles may have influenced her partners’ decision. “I understand that the fires happened, and that was so terrible… I think that they took a hit with that,” she shared. Still, she admitted feeling “disappointed” by the way things were handled.
