Brittany Cartwright Finally Snaps at Jax Taylor After He Questions Her Drinking

The Kentucky native accuses her husband of "trying to make me look like I’m a bad person" in a PEOPLE exclusive clip from the May 21 episode

Brittany Cartwright has hit her breaking point with Jax Taylor.

After listening to Jax, 44, make comments about her alcohol consumption throughout the first season of The Valley, Brittany, 35, finally snaps at him in PEOPLE's exclusive preview of the May 21 episode.

“How was she on the boat? How much was she drinking on the boat?” Jax

When he doesn’t get a firm answer, he tries again.

“Stop. I’m going to ask one time. Answer the damn question,” Jax continues. “How much was she drinking on the boat?”

Nia Booko and Jasmine Goode both respond, “Zero.”

At that point, Brittany pops her head into the kitchen to tell her side of the story.

“Jax, I can f---ing here you,” the Kentucky native says. “Everybody here has my back and you’re my f---ing husband and you’re trying to make me look like I’m a bad person. You think I want to be in here not feeling good? F--- you! F--- you! I’m your wife and you’re trying to make me look bad in front of all these people.”

“I’m not,” Jax chimes in passively.

Brittany ignores him and continues her tirade. “F--- off,” she says. “Everybody knows that I did not drink. Was I drunk? No. I had two f---ing drinks today. So f--- you, Jax!”

In the May 14 episode of The Valley, the women embarked on a boat trip while the men had a beach day. In the car ride on the way home, Brittany asked the driver to pull over because she didn’t feel well. The Vanderpump Rules asked the other ladies not to tell Jax about her getting sick.

“I’d just rather not talk to him about it,” Brittany said.

Earlier in the season, Jax gave Brittany a hard time about packing a bottle of tequila for a girls’ trip.

“I love Jax but I literally try to be positive and happy, but Jax is a lot of the time moody and negative,” Brittany said in a confessional interview during the April 16 episode. “A lot of times I feel like we balance each other out in that way but other times I feel like, I gotta get out of here. I gotta do something fun.”

When she came home hungover and vomited in the driveway, Jax’s chastising continued.

“I don’t understand why you can’t go out and have a couple drinks,” Jax said to Brittany. “Why do you have to go out to get to the point that you have to throw up?”

Brittany claimed Jax did “the exact same thing” when he drank.

“I’m a little worried because not only is she my wife, but she’s a mother,” Jax told the cameras. “We need ya! If you keep this up, you’re going to destroy your body. There’s other ways to have a good time. We live in California, you can smoke a joint.”

Jax and Brittany, who share 3-year-old son Cruz, announced their separation following four years of marriage at the end of February ahead of The Valley’s premiere.

“I feel like I was being taken for granted and not appreciated for everything that I've been doing for the past nine years,” Brittany told PEOPLE, referring to the time she dated Jax prior to their June 2019 nuptials. “I'm taking care of my toddler, and I'm also taking care of another toddler named Jax Taylor, because I basically do everything for the household. I just want to feel appreciated and want to feel wanted by the person that I'm married to.”
