After welcoming Jesse into his home, which he’s since moved out of, Jax, 45, reflects on an “unhinged,” rage-filled moment between him and Brittany, 36, which was prompted by him catching her communicating with his former friend, Julian Sensley, while attempting to convince him she wanted to work on their marriage and move back in.

“Brittany and I have been separated now for almost nine months. It’s not going well,” Jax tells the cameras in a confessional scene from the episode. “She’s in a rental, and we’re allowed to date other people. I mean, it’s so toxic. It’s so broken.”

In the scene with him and Jesse, Jax reveals he and Brittany were discussing her coming back home before he came across some damning messages on her iPad.

“I just so happened to go on the old iPad, and she was still talking to Julian,” he recalls. “She was planning on moving back into my home, but yet sending inappropriate messages. Like, ‘What?’ Because she told me, ‘Let’s work on our marriage.’ And then I see that she’s still texting this guy.”

Meanwhile, at Brittany’s rental, she discusses their encounter with Michelle Lally.

“I come home, and he was on my iPad because Cruz uses my iPad, and my text messages were on there. So the guy that I was talking to, [Jax] went through and read them all. I had sent a sexy video, and Jax saw it,” she shares, noting that they “were separated.”

According to Brittany, she didn’t want the messages to cause friction between her and Jax since they were still co-parenting their son, three-year-old Cruz, and co-hosting a successful podcast. They were even getting to a place where Brittany felt they could “work on their marriage.”

Unfortunately, after Jax saw the messages, as Brittany states in a confessional, “All hell broke loose.”

“That completely changed everything,” she notes.

Speaking to Michelle, Brittany recalls Jax’s violent outburst.

“He flipped the coffee table, and it, like, hit my knee. It turned black immediately, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God! Oh my God!’ I’m, like, screaming, crying. It was terrifying. [He was saying], ‘You’re cheating on me! You’re cheating on me! You’re still talking to him,'” she explained. “[But] we were separated. He’s been hooking up with girls. He’s been publicly parading himself around with girls.”

As the sneak peek at the premiere episode winds down, Jax admits that he agreed that he and Brittany could hook up with other people, but he wonders why she would choose a friend.

“Julian and I were friends. We were hanging out all the time. Meanwhile, she was still hooking up with him, and I had no idea,” Jax shares.

Looking back on his behavior with Brittany on that fateful day, Jax explains, “I went full, f*cking unhinged, rage, bad. It was bad. I’ve gotten that angry before, but that’s the worst it’s ever gotten.”

Then noting that Cruz was in the other room, Jax says he doesn’t want his son “to see how I’m treating his mother.”

“What I did was wrong. I lost all control. I saw red. I had an out-of-body experience, but show me a guy that wouldn’t handle the situation the way I handled it,” he concludes.

Meanwhile, Brittany says that due to Jax’s rage getting “so much worse,” she “cannot let Cruz be around [Jax] by himself.”

The Valley season two premieres Tuesday, April 15, at 9/8c on Bravo.
