Bozoma Saint John set the record straight on a rumor that she might be leaving “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” after just one season.
In January 2025, the marketing CMO appeared on “The Breakfast Club” and shot down rumors spawned by a cryptic post she shared earlier this month about something she was planning to “quit.”
“No, I’m not leaving the show,” Saint John told the “Breakfast Club” co-hosts on January 23. “That’s about something else. but then my house burned down so then I couldn’t even talk about it,” she added.
“I was thinking about like life changes and things I need to do. Not about the show at all,” she clarified.
Saint John also said her presence on the show marks a bit of a “shift” for the cast, which also includes Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, Erika Jayne, Garcelle Beauvais, and Sutton Stracke. “I do think it’s a shift because I’m not like them. And so I think anytime somebody new or like a new situation presents itself they’re also going to be a little careful, you know? Because you just don’t know, you got to test the water right now,” she said. “If I come back for second season, I think that would be a different situation.”
In January 2025, Saint John alarmed fans when she posted a cryptic video on Instagram. “After a lot of reflection and consideration, I’ve decided to quit something that has been a big part of my life over the last year,“ she told her followers in a clip reposted by Bravo Snarkside. “It hasn’t been an easy decision, but I know it’s the right one for me. So, there’s more to come.”
A few days later, Saint John revealed that she lost her Malibu home in the Palisades Fire.
Bozoma Saint John Explained Why She Joined RHOBH
Saint John is best known as the former CMO at both Netflix and Endeavor, CMO at Uber, and a marketing executive at Apple Music, PepsiCo, and more. The marketing guru surprised many people when she joined the cast of RHOBH for its 14th season in 2024.
On “The Breakfast Club,” Saint John was asked why she decided to jump into the “craziness” of reality TV. “Well you know what’s so funny, the idea of being on the show is actually really interesting to me. Because I do feel like there’s no representation for women like me, or like us, you know,” she explained.
“Like look, the corporate girlies who are ambitious, who are smart, who are loyal and will defend their friends and all of that, they don’t exist in this space,” she added of the reality TV genre. “No disrespect to anybody else but they just don’t. And so, I’m like, well I’ve already represented in so many different spaces. Like why not do it here and also work on a bigger platform? And also do things that I want to do in a different way, so why not.”
Saint John noted that the Housewives franchise “deserves a reinvention” in a way. “ I think the relationships between women has been really shown poorly in ways that is are not helpful,” she explained. “We should have more ability to show the drama and conflict and the things that happen in your life that don’t necessarily have to be with you just screaming and yelling at people needlessly.”
Saint John acknowledged that there is “always conflict.” But she added, “The fights I had in the boardroom were far scarier than any fight I’ve had on this damn show.”
In December 2024, she told People magazine, “This scenario — the interactions with the women, all those things — is light work. It really is. Because the battle in the boardroom is much, much worse than this.”
Bozoma Saint John Was Surprised By 1 Thing When She Joined RHOBH
Saint John admitted that before she joined RHOBH she thought some of the scenes were manipulated by production.
“I’m the first one to tell you that I really thought that these conversations were played up,” she shared. “I was shocked to find out that the relationships are really real. So people get upset about real things, you know and that you really don’t know. It’s just like life, like you don’t know if somebody’s talking about you behind your back. And so, you see it on screen later. And people be like ‘oh she should have known she was fake’ and this and that you’re just like, how would you know that?”
“I am continuously learning about the relationships between the women and myself and then also how it appears on camera,” Saint John added. “The reunions are going to be very interesting, that’s all I know.”
