Below Deck Mediterranean season 9’s biggest rivalry may be coming to an end as Captain Sandy Yawn makes a decision about what to do with feuding stews Bri Muller and Ellie Dubaich. Throughout Below Deck Mediterranean season 9, the issues between Bri and Ellie have escalated. Originally, the pair of stews were working well together as Ellie took her time trying to train and teach Bri, the third stew. Ellie, the second stew reporting in to Chief Stew Aesha Scott, was attracted to deckhand Joe Bradley, but when Bri hooked up with him, things began to spiral for the colleagues.
In a preview of the next episode of Bravo’s Below Deck Mediterranean season 9, Captain Sandy’s meeting with the stews is continued, and she shares that if they can’t come to an agreement on how to proceed forward professionally, she’ll have to let both of them go. Earlier in the meeting, Bri was being openly insubordinate while Ellie was doing her best to defend herself.
Captain Sandy shares in the clip that while she knows that she can let both of them go, she wants to think about it before she makes a final decision. “I want to ask both of you to just be kind to each other. Let’s get through this charter and let’s figure it out on the back side,” Captain Sandy explains to an emotional Bri and Ellie, after informing both of them that they’ll both be fired if they can’t get along. While no one has been fired yet, it can definitely still happen in the future.
Captain Sandy & Aesha Scott Attempt To Separate Ellie & Bri
Moving Their Bunks May Make Things Easier For The Stews
Throughout Below Deck Mediterranean season 9’s episodes, many have wondered why Bri and Ellie have continued to share a bunk with their plethora of issues. At one point in the season, Bri was sleeping in Joe and Nathan Gallagher’s bunk because of the tension she perceived feeling with Ellie, though Ellie shared she’d rather have Bri sleeping in her bed to keep the peace. During the preview clip, Aesha and Captain Sandy confer about the meeting and decide it may help to separate their bunks, having Bri sleep in Aesha’s bunk and switching her bunkmate Gael Cameron into Ellie’s bunk.
Bri and Ellie’s issues have been dragging the charter down throughout Below Deck Mediterranean season 9. While the rest of their crewmates have found it difficult to work with the stews, the viewers of the series have also been irritated with the storyline throughout the season thus far. With Bri and Ellie separated, it may be a salve for the relationship between the stews that could save both of their jobs. Bri and Ellie have had to not only work together all season, but be cognizant of each other’s personal space, and the separation could do both of them well.
Although the rest of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 has been exciting, the feud between Bri and Ellie has taken a turn for the worst in the last several episodes. With the stews finally getting Captain Sandy involved and moving into a better situation for the both of them, it could be great for the pair to be separated. Bri and Ellie may feel less tension with their off-time not having to account for one another, though Captain Sandy’s fix may not be able to resolve all of their issues. Below Deck Mediterranean may be ready for a new stew.
