Ashton Jeanty names the one city he’d love to live in and it’s not New York or LA

For Ashton Jeanty, the road to the NFL might just lead back to where it all began. While waiting to make his NFL debut, the young running back appears to be dropping hints about his desired team, at least that’s what it sounded like as he shared the place he wants to live in, which surprisingly is not New York or Los Angeles.

With his father serving as CPO for the U.S. Navy, Jeanty spent his childhood living in many places, until he fell in love with football in Italy, where his father was stationed for three years. He moved to Texas after that and enrolled in Lone Star High School in Frisco to continue playing gridiron in the United States.

During an interview with Jon Gruden for Barstool Sports, the Boise State standout running back was asked if he has one place in mind, where he would like to “live in and play football.” He responded with Dallas.

I was just there a few years ago playing High School football. So in the Ford… Ford Center you know, up there in Frisco, Texas. So you know, to be back in Dallas [and] practicing in that facility, playing in that facility again. I think that would be amazing.

His sentiments reflect not only his connection to the area but also his aspirations to return to the place that has significantly shaped his football journey, the place he returned to after falling in love with football. However, many believe he was probably hinting at his desire to play for the Cowboys, who desperately need a better run game that Jeanty can bring, even if they don’t admit it.

Could Ashton Jeanty be the answer to Cowboys’ running game woes?

After the experimental failure with Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys are dealing with an urgency to stabilize their running game, which also presents a good opportunity for Jerry Jones to redeem himself before the eyes of the disappointed fans by acquiring a strong offensive weapon.

With Rico Dowdle becoming an unrestricted free agent and limited cap space, drafting Jeanty can turn into a big victory for the Cowboys. Considering his standout record in Boise State and draft projection as a first-round pick, Jones can use this opportunity to give new head coach Brian Schottenheimer a dominant offensive weapon rather than simply being shocked why his team couldn’t qualify for the playoffs.

At present under the reign of a new head coach– that followed another dose of backlash from the fans, the Cowboys are left with only Deuce Vaughn as a running back. Perhaps, Jeanty could actually be the answer to all the fans’ prayers.
