Ariana Madix's Brother Jeremy In Fierce Battle Against Felony Drug Charges With $25,000 Fine - What Happens Next

Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix’s brother, Jeremy Madix, is facing some serious charges. After being searched by Customs and Border Protection agents while attempting to fly from Florida to Germany, Jeremy and his friend, Jonah Ahad, were found to have marijuana in their luggage. Jonah allegedly had 37 pounds of marijuana in his suitcase, while Jeremy had 76 pounds in his luggage. Yikes!

In July, Jeremy was taken into custody. They were both charged with trafficking more than 25 pounds of cannabis. Now he is entering his plea and starting the battle against the charges.

Jeremy Madix’s attorneys requested some specific evidence from the case

After Jeremy posted an $80,000 bond he was released from jail. His mother wrote a heartbreaking letter, attesting to his character. “Over the past 10 years while living in California he has thrived there. He has a good job and is liked by his employer. He shares a home with his lovely fiancée Rachael and their 2 dogs,” Tanya Madix wrote.

Meanwhile, according to In Touch, he entered a not-guilty plea to the charges against him. Court documents that In Touch reviewed showed that Jeremy’s attorneys requested some specific evidence. The lawyer asked that the name of each witness, any recorded statements from a witness, the police reports, and any statements made by Jeremy, be turned over.

Jeremy and his lawyer also requested grand jury notes with Jeremy’s testimony. His attorney also would like to know if there has “been electronic surveillance, including wiretapping, of the premises of the accused, or of conversations to which the accused was a part, and any documents related thereto.” Jeremy’s defense also sought a list of possible witnesses that the prosecutor might call.

As you may recall, Ariana and Jeremy are estranged at the moment. Finally, Jeremy set the record straight about the reason. “I just want to clarify that I haven’t talked to my sister due to me having to stand up for my fiancé,” Jeremy explained.

And his legal troubles are serious. He is potentially facing some hefty jail time. The charge carries a minimum three-year sentence in prison along with a hefty $25,000 fine. However, the judge could sentence Jeremy and Jonah to up to 30 years in jail.
